Cookie and Tracker Policy

This policy explains how Scubbl uses cookies, trackers and similar technologies on its website and in its mobile application.

It supplements Scubbl’s Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly the personal data processing carried out as part of the service.

1. What is a cookie or tracker?

A cookie is a small file stored on your device, such as your computer, smartphone or tablet, when you visit a website.

In a mobile application, similar technologies may be used without taking the form of a traditional cookie. These may include technical identifiers, SDKs, advertising identifiers, notification tokens or other technologies that make it possible to read or write information on your device.

In this policy, the term “trackers” refers to all of these technologies.

2. Why does Scubbl use cookies and trackers?

Scubbl uses only cookies and trackers that are necessary or useful for the operation of the service, its security, the improvement of the user experience and, where you consent, certain advertising or measurement purposes.

Cookies and trackers may in particular be used to:

ensure the operation of the website and the application;

enable authentication and maintain your session;

secure the service and prevent abuse;

remember your preferences and privacy choices;

display requested features, including content, maps or integrated services;

measure the technical operation of the service;

display advertisements in the application;

manage your consent where required.

3. Strictly necessary cookies and trackers

Some cookies and trackers are strictly necessary for Scubbl to operate or to provide a service expressly requested by the user.

These trackers may be used without prior consent where they are essential to:

access the service;

maintain a user session;

secure connections;

prevent fraud, abuse or unauthorized access;

store privacy choices;

ensure the proper technical operation of the website or application.

Refusing or deleting these trackers may prevent certain essential features from working properly.

4. Cookies and trackers subject to consent

Some trackers are used only with your consent where required by applicable regulations.

This includes, in particular, trackers used for:

personalized advertising;

advertising measurement;

certain audience measurements that are not strictly necessary;

use of your device’s advertising identifier for targeting or personalization purposes.

Where these trackers are used, Scubbl asks for your consent before activating them, in particular in the mobile application when an advertising consent screen is displayed.

You may accept, refuse or change your choices according to the options provided.

5. Advertising in the application

Scubbl may display advertising in its mobile application.

Where required by law, in particular in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, non-strictly necessary advertising trackers are used only after your consent.

If you refuse, Scubbl may continue to display non-personalized or contextual advertisements, to the extent technically possible and in compliance with applicable regulations.

Permissions or information displayed by app stores or by your device’s operating system do not necessarily replace the consent required for certain trackers used in the application.

6. Trackers in the mobile application

In the mobile application, certain trackers may be used to ensure the operation of the service, manage in-app purchases, display content, provide maps, send notifications if you have authorized them or display advertising.

Push notifications are sent only if you have authorized them on your device. The technical token used to send these notifications is not a cookie, but it may be considered a technical identifier necessary for sending notifications.

You can manage certain permissions directly from your device settings, including notifications, location or advertising settings.

7. Managing your choices

You can manage your choices regarding cookies and trackers in several ways.

On the website, you can configure your browser to accept, refuse or delete cookies. Each browser provides its own cookie management settings.

In the mobile application, you can manage certain choices:

from the consent screen when it is provided;

from the application settings when this option is available;

from the advertising settings of your operating system.

You may also limit or reset your device’s advertising identifier from the iOS or Android settings.

Refusing certain trackers may limit some personalized, advertising or analytics features, without preventing access to Scubbl’s essential features.

8. Retention period for choices

When Scubbl collects your consent or refusal for certain trackers, this choice may be retained for a maximum period of six months.

At the end of this period, or in the event of a significant change to the trackers used, your choice may be requested again.

9. Third parties

Some cookies, trackers or similar technologies may be provided by third parties acting on behalf of Scubbl or integrated into the service.

These third parties may intervene only where necessary for the operation of the service, its security, the provision of a requested feature, consent management, technical measurement or the display of advertising.

Any personal data processing associated with these services is described in Scubbl’s Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to the policy

Scubbl may amend this policy to reflect changes in the service, the technologies used or applicable regulations.

The applicable version is the one published on this page.
